Meet Grant Palmer

I’m Grant Palmer, and my professional grooming fiancé is Monica Goforth. Over the past five years, I’ve helped maintain and repair her three previous vans, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges groomers face. I even worked part-time as her wash boy and dry boy — only allowed near the clippers under close supervision.

During that time, I saw just how hard groomers work, and I wanted to make a difference. When Monica needed a new van, I made the decision — as a pre-retiring contractor — to design, engineer, and build one myself. My background spans mechanical systems, commercial and residential construction, high-end design, and master carpentry. I’ve also trained and demonstrated for a major German mechanical corporation, giving me the tools to approach this project with precision and purpose.

From the start, I focused on ergonomics, durability, and efficiency. The vans use aluminum framing for strength and weight savings, PVC wall panels with Formica finishes for style, and heavily insulated walls with fire-retardant rock wool and poly-iso. Tanks are balanced over the wheel wells, while the rear utility compartment is designed for easy access and maintenance. Hot water runs within seconds, water pressure is strong, and cleaning or servicing equipment requires opening just one door.

“Goodbye Generators.” I built a fully enclosed, fire-suppressed power system that runs multiple days without charging, fully recharges in just 4.5 hours, and is solar-ready. It’s simple to operate with the push of a button.

“Goodbye Rooftop Air Conditioners.” Instead, I install efficient mini-split systems with easily cleanable filters — no climbing on the roof required.

Artisan Conversions was built on these ideas: dependable, easy-to-maintain vans designed for productivity, profitability, and less strain on the body.

This is how Artisan  Conversions came to be.

About The Owners

Meet Monica Goforth

Monica has been a mobile pet stylist for over 20 years.  She has worked in multiple vans by multiple builders.  While several builds were unique, and did the job, she took notes on how to make each proceeding van better.

The newest designed van allows you to walk around the table if you wish, has a chandelier spotlight directly over the grooming area, and also has a crate above the cab for those of you who bring your small pet to work with you.  These three features, were implemented just for Monica.  All vans can be customized inside the salon area to each groomer’s particular style and needs.

If you are looking for a small company that does not want to mass produce vans, but looking just to provide few outstanding vans, give us a call.
